Discover what to see in Favara with this little guide full of lovely surprises and places you’ll be glad you found.

Favara, in Valencia, is a small town close to the sea and right beside the Serra de Corbera. Come with us to discover the main highlights of this corner of La Ribera Baixa and get ready for a walking route with a wonderful surprise at the end.

Things to Do in Favara

Start with a wander around its small town centre, where you’ll come across some really interesting buildings from the late 19th century, such as the former Fundación Patriarca Sant Josep schools. Most of the houses are low-rise and traditional in style, and, among the town’s streets, the 18th-century Parish Church of San Antonio Abad stands out with its Neoclassical design.

And, as Favara is just over ten minutes by car from Cullera beach, you can easily add a little sea and sand to your plans, making it a fabulous full day out.

Walking and the Best Views of La Ribera Baixa from Favara

As well as enjoying a sunny beach day from Favara, we’d really recommend putting on comfy shoes, filling your water bottle and getting ready to discover some gorgeous landscapes. Following the PR-CV 304 route, you’ll reach the L’Ouet area.

This is where an old forest lookout once stood, and it’s a lovely spot to sit for a while and take in the views. Then, if you keep walking, the route will take you to the next stop on our itinerary: the Cueva de la Galera.

How to Get to the Cueva de la Galera in Favara?

After taking in the landscape from L’Ouet, you can carry on walking to this fantastic cave. A Bronze Age archaeological site has been found here, surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean woodland. And there are information panels to help you enjoy the place even more.

To round off your plan in Favara, you can continue up to La Ratlla peak, the highest point in this mountain range, where the reward comes in the form of unforgettable panoramic views. This walk is moderately difficult, so it’s best if you’re used to mountain walking and come well prepared. Start planning your trip to Favara!
