Manises is synonymous with ceramics but also with tradition and festivities. For that reason, its activity calendar is full of unforgettable moments such as its Manises’ Holy Week that is the period with more fervor and recollection that is celebrated in the city.

From Palm Sunday to Good Friday you can experience encounters and emotive processions such as the Sorrowful Encounter or the Holy Burial.

Days of great spirituality where you can find moments of great beauty, especially when the floats or processions pass in front of buildings and monuments decorated with ceramics.

But the high point comes, without a doubt, on Easter Sunday with the Glorious Encounter, in which the Virgin’s bows take place when she meets her resurrected son. Meanwhile, people throw from their balconies their Aleluyas, colorful papers on which traditional verses are written.

This celebration gives way to Easter with its gastronomy and typical activities such as flying kites while enjoying the traditional mona de Pascua, the Panquemao and the typical longanizas.

In 2024, Holy Week will be celebrated from March 25 to 31.
