Immerse yourself in the history and art of Valencian ceramics with this authentic and creative experience. The Socarrat, a centuries-old decorative piece, is a symbol of the cultural heritage of the Valencian Community. During the workshop, you will learn about the origins, meanings and traditional techniques of this unique ceramic. And the best part: you will be able to paint your own Socarrat! No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to enjoy and let yourself be inspired. Located in Manises, cradle of ceramics for more than seven centuries and UNESCO Creative City in the modality of Crafts and Popular Arts, the headquarters of the Valencian Ceramics Association AVEC-Gremio, houses in its four-storey building a fully equipped workshop-school, training classrooms, and a ceramics store. Visit the Center for Services and Promotion of Valencian Ceramics and feel what it is like to be an artisan-ceramist for a day by making a ceramic experience and take a piece of our history home with you.
