The birthplace of golf in Valencia, this is a historic and attractive course featuring plenty of Mediterranean greenery. It is also quite a technical course, and straying from the fairway can be costly.

The course was remodelled in 2008 when the international airport at Manises was extended, but the work remained true to the spirit Javier Arana. The redesign was directed by Alfonso Vidaor y Magí Sardá.

It is an excellent practice course, which cannot be extended to 18 holes due to a lack of available land. Manises is a joy for nature lovers and golfers alike, a green lung for the locals, and which at various points in its history has been under serious threat. Ten thousand trees, many of them more than fifty years old, help to screen the course from external noise.

A total of 650 olive trees, 500 pine trees, 350 carob trees and 200 holm oaks were planted, as well as Mediterranean brush in strategic places. The course is no longer flat, as it now features more landscaping. Players who have learnt at Manises are easily spotted because of their stance when striking the ball.
