Ermita de la Cruz, la Cruz hermitage, in Quesa, in the province of Valencia, stands on the hill above the town, along the route towards the old castle. This modest building marks the end of the local Stations of the Cross and offers lovely views over the surrounding countryside. It is a peaceful place to pause and take in another side of Quesa.
Things to see at la Cruz hermitage in Quesa
The hermitage dates back to the 18th century, when it was built to commemorate the arrival of Franciscan missionaries from Gilet. With its square layout, tiled dome and wrought-iron cross, la Cruz hermitage also houses figures of a cross and the Virgen de los Desamparados. The viewpoint has been restored by local residents, and the benches make it a pleasant place to stop and enjoy the landscape during your visit. From here, you can continue discovering more of Quesa, including its refreshing natural pools and prehistoric rock paintings.
