Discover a true Valencian street festival as Torrent comes alive for the Fallas festivites!

The Fallas de Torrent, in the province of Valencia, bring together fire, tradition and music in a festival fizzing with sound and colour. The origins are deeply bound up in the tradition of los pallassos, the dressed-up straw dolls famous for their parody and satirical accusation.

The first falla in Torrent, as we’ve come to know these artistic events, took place in 1900. Since then, the pageantry has kept growing, creating a truly incredible series of traditions. The crida (opening proclamation), the plantà (setting up of the Fallas monuments), the parades, the mascletà (daytime fireworks display), the band music, the floral offerings, the cremà (burning of the Fallas)… and of course, the raw excitement when the image of the Virgen de los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Forsaken) passes through the streets!

In the days leading up to the 19th of March, the streets of Torrent come alive. This is your chance to admire the beauty of the traditional clothes, and surprise yourself with the creativity of local artists. Don’t miss it!
