Defined by the colourful stripes of its façade, Ruzafa market is the place to go to get your hands on local and international specialities.

Located in one of the most happening districts in València, Mercado de Ruzafa has become something of a foodie destination in the city. The market has over 100 stalls purveying a wide range of specialities, from locally sourced fruits and vegetables and freshly caught fish and seafood to artisanal cocas, empanadillas and pastries, as well as other delicacies from around the world.

The market has a carpark where you can leave your car and start exploring the area. The streets of Ruzafa are lined with bars and restaurants where you can take a seat and order something delicious for lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you could get yourself something to eat at Mercado de Ruzafa during opening hours – 7.30am to 3pm – in the café or one of the many stalls that prepare traditional dishes to take away, such as arroz al horno (oven-baked rice), paella, roasted vegetables and much more.

If you like to indulge in gourmet products, the market is the place to go. Not only is there a fine wine boutique, in the outdoor stalls you’ll find a specialty coffee provider, as well as a bike repair workshop and florist.

Everyday life in Ruzafa revolves around the market. Stop off in the district to wander around the stalls and then sit on a terrace to do some people watching. Fallas is a great time to come to the area as its streets are decorated with twinkling light displays.
