Come and take a look around a pretty chapel in Dénia that makes a great destination for a walk. You’re going to love it.

Ermita de Santa Paula, Santa Paula Chapel in Dénia, is a charming place of worship that is well worth a visit. The chapel is a 20 minute walk or so from the centre, making it a lovely excuse to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery.

Constructed atop a building dating to the Muslim period, Santa Paula Chapel is a simple structure that was once part of a monastic site for nuns. Inside, the wooden beamed roof gives it a rustic feel. On the 26 January every year, the chapel is the focal point and destination of a pilgrimage in honour of Santa Paula, a saint that is connected to a tradition of healing.

There’s plenty to see in Dénia. Beyond Santa Paula Chapel, you can visit the Castle and Walls and soak up the lively atmosphere in the historic centre. La Asunción de Nuestra Señora is another must for your to-visit list. Come and enjoy Dénia’s gastronomy and beaches – like Les Marines – and delve into the rich heritage. Your getaway will be an unforgettable one.
