Come and see an iconic tower in Los Montesinos and stay to discover the rest of the municipality’s charms.

Torre de la Marquesa, La Marquesa Tower in Los Montesinos in the province of Alicante is one of the most iconic sights in the village. It’s well worth going to see it. The location in which it sits was once the centre of the village of Partida de la Marquesa.

Built in the 18th century, La Marquesa Tower has since been renovated, particularly in the wake of an earthquake that damaged it in 1919. It is part of La Marquesa Chapel, a much beloved place of worship among the locals who prepare a moving pilgrimage here every year, in addition to other festivities and celebrations.

Beyond going to visit the tower, we’d also recommend taking a look around Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish Church or planning a walk to visit the places of interest in the outskirts of Los Montesinos, such as the remains of Via Augusta, old estates and Las Lagunas de la Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park. Start planning a getaway bursting with history in the southern part of the province of Alicante.
