During the festivities in honour of San Antonio Abad, which are celebrated at the weekend closest to the 17th of January, two characteristic elements are highlighted. The first is the bonfire of San Antón, which is burnt in the Raval Square. Hot chocolate and sweet pastries are shared among the people who draw close to the flames, and who also attend the procession and blessing of the animals that takes place the next day. The second is the handing out of the typical blessed bread of San Antonio during this event. Moreover, the parade of animals is an excellent opportunity to see magnificent displays of horses, an animal held in high esteem by the inhabitants of Onda, and proudly shown off in this parade.
