What to see in Villajoyosa: Day 1

We begin our tour by visiting the artsy historic centre of Villajoyosa, which was once a walled city, and boasts a unique urban landscape next to the Amadorio River. During your tour, we recommend spending some time at the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, a one-of-a-kind temple, due to its structure forming part of the walls themselves. You can even admire those very same walls  on the ‘Costera de la mar’ road.

The different streets that make up the oldest part of the town are full of beautiful traditional houses, so one of your plans in Villajoyosa could be to bring your camera and take plenty of photos. And just wait until you reach the seafront! There, the old fishermen's houses are painted in every colour imaginable, so the views from the sea must be incredible!

To end the first day, we encourage you to visit the Valencian Chocolate Museum, a sweet treat typical of Villajoyosa, and also discover some beaches, such as the town's own beach, opposite those colourful houses. Depending on the time of year, strolling or sunbathing will be a real pleasure.

What to do in Villajoyosa: Day 2

We continue with our guide on what to do in two days in Villajoyosa and for this day, we suggest a great walk, accompanied by some vivid history and the refreshing sea breeze. We'll start with some of Villajoyosa's historic monuments: specifically, some of its watchtowers and defensive towers that, for centuries, have scanned the sea in search of pirates. We've interspersed a few coves and beaches along the route we've prepared, so your second day will be very full!

We'll start at the southernmost tower, the 16th-century Torre del Charco, which offers spectacular views from the cliff where it stands. Nearby is the beach of the same name, a place of natural beauty! We'll continue towards the town centre of Villajoyosa to find La Caleta Beach, with palm trees lining the esplanade, as well as the great rocks where you can look for marine fauna.

Next up is El Paraíso Beach, on the Punta del Moro, and then you'll head back past the previous beach and continue north in search of the marina, next to which you'll find Varadero Beach. Next up is the beautiful Torre de San José or Torre de Hércules, very close to which is Torres Beach.

We'll say goodbye when we reach the beautiful Racó d'en Conill Beach and the Aguiló Tower. After two days, look back at what you’ve discovered  in and about Villajoyosa, a place where you can enjoy peace and quiet next to the sea!
