Your plans in Santa Pola, El Baix Vinalopó, should start at the fantastic Castle-Fortress located in the city’s historic centre. You will love the majesty of this 16th-century castle, which is also home to the fascinating Museo de la Mar (Sea Museum), whose exhibitions are not to be missed.

Your two-day tour of Santa Pola will be full of places steeped in centuries of history, such as the Portus Ilicitanus archaeological site next to Palmeral Park. You will discover that Santa Pola has been inhabited since ancient times!

We continue our two-day itinerary through Santa Pola and stop to photograph incredible fossil reefs and ancient watchtowers, such as Escaletes and Atalayola, where you have a breathtaking viewpoint nearby! The cape area is beautiful and can be a good starting point for relaxing in front of the sea in the afternoon on one of the magnificent beaches of Santa Pola. It will have been a really full day!

Visiting Santa Pola in two days: nature

Your list of things to see in Santa Pola in two days should include a hiking trail among water birds. Salinas de Santa Pola Natural Park has two marked trails, the yellow trail and the red trail. The first, known as the Pinet route, is 3.5 km long and runs through old salt ponds of great biological richness. It's a fabulous option for the second day of your trip!

The red route, or Tamarit beach route, is 3 km long and follows old paths to reach the remains of a salt pier, giving you stunning views of the salt mountains.
