Come and check out these ancient chapel ruins and gaze at the spectacular views from the top of the hill. Uncover Llíria’s fascinating heritage!

Ermita de Santa Bárbara, Santa Bárbara Chapel, is located in the province of Valencia in Llíria, a UNESCO Creative City of Music. Thought to date back to the 15th century, the remains of this historic building are a must-visit when in the area.

The chapel was dedicated to Saint Bárbara and Saint Sebastián in the 18th century. Later, while fighting against the French and also during the Carlist Wars, the chapel served both as a shelter for soldiers and a defensive fort, hence its current crumbling state. However, its walls still stand to tell the tale to every visitor that pays it a visit.

There are still several interesting architectural features present, such as classic pilasters, arches and window frames. Marvel at the church’s elegant façade that still stands proud and try to work out where the towers would have been on each side.
