Náquera’s Patron Saint Festival is steeped in local culture, with children’s events and solemn ceremonies filling the square outside the church.

The Fiestas Patronales de Náquera, Náquera Patron Saint Festival, in Valencia, is held in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación and San Francisco de Asís. The main celebrations take place from 1 to 4 October, although the town starts building towards them throughout September with a varied programme of events.

What to see and do during Náquera Patron Saint Festival

During the festival, the town really comes to life. One of the highlights is the celebration of the Niño Jesús, which is especially geared towards children and sees the youngest members of the community dress in traditional Valencian costume.

The celebrations draw to a close on 4 October with an open-air solemn Mass in the church square, where the sermon is delivered by a friar from the nearby Monasterio de Santo Espíritu de Gilet. Across the festival, you can also expect open-air dances, street parades and fireworks.
