Plan a day out to this nature area in Navarrés and explore the woodland, waterfalls and historic sites.

Los Chorradores de Navarrés is located in El Barcal gorge heading in the direction of Quesa. A protected nature area, it is defined by its gallery forest and – as its name suggests – waterfalls, known as chorradores.

As you walk, you will be taken aback by the beauty of the scenery. The trail will lead you to Fuente Clara, a viewing point and Los Chorradores waterfall, as well as a swimming area, waterwheel, picnic area and Fuente de la Higuera recreational area.

The plant life here is typical of that found in shady spots with an abundance of water. If you are lucky, you might just spot kingfishers, river crabs and other animals enjoying the canopy provided by nettle trees, black poplars and fig trees that emanate their irresistible sweet fragrance.

The trail through Los Chorradores de Navarrés will also take you to historic sites, such as the spring, waterwheel and Pozo de las Quebradas where iron-rich thermal waters surge from the earth.

Access to the nature area is regulated and there is a charge for entry. There is a carpark where you can leave your vehicle to protect the natural surroundings. The route is relatively easy and can be enjoyed as a family.

Los Chorradores de Navarrés is the perfect start to your exploration of the natural landscapes in the area. Once you’ve visited, continue your trip to Tous pit cave and Escalona dam. So what are you waiting for? Pack a picnic, grab your friends and family and get ready to enjoy a day in the great outdoors.
