Ontinyent Festival Museum: history and collection

Set over three floors, all of which are fully accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, the museum explores more than 150 years of Ontinyent’s Moors and Christians festivities, which have been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

As you make your way through the Ontinyent Festival Museum, you’ll come across original musical scores, scale models, devotional objects dedicated to the town’s patron, the Embajadas texts written in 1860 and an important collection of festival dress, including the special costumes worn by captains, ambassadors and standard-bearers. Audiovisual displays round off the visit and bring the story of the festival to life.
