El Turia natural park is home to La Vallesa, a woodland where you can enjoy getting active among the trees.

La Vallesa wood is a protected landscape that is part of El Turia natural park, located in La Canyada area of Paterna. The woodland has a total surface area of 6 hectares and is home to large numbers of pine trees and scrubland that is typically found in Mediterranean forests.

La Vallesa is an ideal place for a walk, run or bike ride. As you start you explorations of the woodland, you might just come across some hidden treasures, such as an aqueduct as well as trenches and bunkers that were left behind after the war. When you reach Lloma de Betxí, you’ll discover an incredible Bronze Age settlement that is thought to date to the years 1800 to 1300 BC.

The natural oasis is close to Paterna, València and Moncada and draws in day visitors who are seeking a breath of fresh air and some quiet time with mother nature.

The best-known walk in the woodland is Ruta Rosa. This simple 3km trail starts at Calle 365 at the La Vallesa de Paterna development and leads you into the trees. As you walk, you might just be lucky enough to see all sorts of wildlife including eagles, owls, frogs, toads and snakes that inhabit a landscape populated by rosemary, thyme and mastic trees. Come to La Vallesa to be immersed in scenery where you will forget your worries and instead find yourself connecting with the natural world around you.
