Come and enjoy a beautiful festival in Sagunto, with traditions that you'll fall in love with instantly!

Every year on 17 January, the San Antonio Abad festival fills Sagunto with tradition and atmosphere.

Considered the city's main winter festival, San Antonio in Sagunto blends ancient rituals with a popular programme that's open to everyone. One of its signature moments is the moving of the pine tree from the trinquet, a traditional Valencian indoor court, towards the main square, dragged by horses and accompanied by traditional Valencian music and the correfocs, a fire-running parade by the Diabólica de Morvedre troupe.

The main square is also the site of a bonfire, which burns to the sound of bells rung by the Campaners de Morvedre. The programme of this festival in Sagunto is completed by the 'demon's workshop', horse parades and the traditional blessing of animals. It all creates a vibrant, interactive festival where the spirit of popular culture courses through every corner.
