The Fair commemorates the traditional festival of Sant Jaume, when residents of El Campello and the surrounding cities went down to the beach to spend the day with their family and cattle to cool off during these hot days. It is celebrated on the weekend closest to the day of the Apostle Santiago, patron saint of Spain, which in the Valencian Community is known as Sant Jaume.

To commemorate this tradition, in addition to offering concerts with the best rock music in Valencian in the Plaza de la Iglesia (Plaza de Canalejas), the Fair organizes activities for the public, such as craft workshops for the youngest and donkey rides
