Fiestas in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption

FIESTAS PROGRAMME

SUNDAY, 2^nd August

The Festival Committee and local authorities accompanied by the “xirimita i tabalet”, will march through the village for the traditional “Arreplegà” (collection parade).

 FRIDAY, 14^th AUGUST THE EVE “LA VESPRA”.

05:00 am. Locals are warmly encouraged to participate in the singing of “la Aurora” (a traditional song). Hot chocolate will be provided for everyone.

10:00 am. Traditional “despertà” (parade with music) through the streets of the village. Finishing point will be “Sant Gregori” square.

11:30 am. The 43^rd Children’s drawing contest will be held in the school square.

Prizes for all participants. Afterwards, Cafetería Levante will offer soft drinks and ice cream to the children.

01:00 pm. A grand bell ringing, a firework display and the street musicians playing “xirimita i tabalet” will liven up the streets of the village to mark the official commencement of the fiestas.

02:00 pm. In keeping with the tradition, the 40^th “Xinos” Championship will take place in Venta Guadalest, featuring snacks and beer for the participants. A price-giving ceremony for the winner will follow, courtesy of Venta Guadalest 07:00 pm. The Tàrbena band will parade through the streets of the village.

08:00 pm. 3^rd edition of “Festerets 2026” (children who take part in the fiesta). They will be introduced in “L’Era” square.

09:00 pm. Traditional Procession of Our Patron Saint, the Virgin of the Assumption, from Casa Orduña to her church, accompanied by the Tàrbena Band.

10:30 pm. Members of the Town hall invite the townspeople to enjoy a glass of wine in the car park.

00:00 am. LA FLAMA ORCHESTRA performance in the car park. We will enjoy all together the first night of the fiestas.

 SATURDAY, 15^th AUGUST “LA FESTA”

10:00 am. “Despertà”(parade with music), bell ringing, firework display and the Tàrbena music band will go through the streets of the village.

12:00 pm. Traditional flower Offering to Our Patron Saint, the Virgin of the Assumption, followed by High Mass, sung by the Mare Nostrum Choir of Alicante, sponsored by the Alicante Provincial Council.

01:30 pm. Tàrbena street band will parade through the streets of the village.

03:45 pm. Small fireworks display in the playground.

04:00 – 07:00 pm. Water games for children at the sports centre.

07:00 pm. “Albades” performance in different streets of the village.

09:30 pm. Barbecue with local products in the car park. Sign-up required before August 10. (Contact the Committee of the fiesta). Price: 10 euros per person.

11:30 pm. Come to dance with “Macrodiscomóvil Africania” performance in the car park.

World novelty, guaranteed performance and many surprises!.

SUNDAY, 16^th AUGUST “SANT ROC”

10:30 am. “Despertà” (parade with music), amazing bell ringing, firework display and Tàrbena street band will go through the streets of the village.

12:30 pm. High mass in honour of “Sant Roc” sung by “La Rondalla”.

01:30 pm. Tàrbena street band will parade through the streets of the village.

05:00 pm. Games for children in the playground with the Tàrbena street band music.

07:00 pm. Tàrbena street band performance at “Sant Gregori” Square. Let’s dance “pasodoble”.

12:00 am. We encourage you to participate in the fancy dress party. Let your imagination run wild. The parade with the Tàrbena street band will start at “el bassó” (outside laundry) and it will finish in the car park.

The most original fancy dresses will be awarded prizes. 1^st prize, 300 euros and a surprise, 2^nd prize, 200 euros and 3^rd prize, 100 euros. All the children will receive a prize.

Non - stop dance to the rhythm of “ORQUESTA MATRIX” in the car park.

 MONDAY, 17^th AUGUST

10:30 am. Last “despertà” (parade with music), bell ringing, firework display and Tàrbena street band will go through the streets of the village.

12:30 pm. High mass in honour of Our Lady “De los Dolores” sung by “El Duo Bach d’Altea”.

01:30 pm. Tàrbena street band will parade through the streets of the village.

19:30 pm. Tàrbena street band will parade through the streets of the village.

08:30 pm. Procession through the streets of the village with the Patroness Our Lady of the Assumption accompanied by La Paz music band. “El orfeón San Juan” group will sing to the statue of the virgin. This event will be sponsored by El Castell de Guadalest Townhall.

10:30 pm. Nighttime Mascletà (firework display) by Pirotecnia Aitana, sponsored by the Provincial Tourism Board.

12:30 am. To finish the “fiestas” we will enjoy with the music of the “NO COMMENT ORCHESTRA” in the car park.
