Held on 13 August in honour of the patron saint of Elche, La Nit de l'Albà will ignite the skies of the province of Alicante in a burst of colour and sound. More than just a firework display, the event sees more than 2000 kilos of fireworks set off, converting the spectacle into a festival of light and explosions that spreads through the city.

At midnight, a solemn silence cuts through the cacophony of pyrotechnic play and everyone is plunged into darkness. Then, one of the songs from the sacred musical drama Mystery Play of Elche is performed. The event culminates in a magnificent firework display in the shape of a palm tree, which lights up the entire city of Elche.
