Lift the curtain on the drama, tradition and centuries-old story of a unique performance recognised by UNESCO as part of the world’s cultural heritage.

The Museu Municipal de la Festa, the Municipal Museum of the Mystery Play of Elche, was created to introduce visitors to the Misteri d’Elx at any time of year.

Part of the museum occupies the restored Chapel of Saint Sebastian, a building with longstanding links to this sacred musical drama. Inside, the visit unfolds across two distinct spaces. The first is a permanent exhibition featuring traditional stage machinery and objects used in the production, including costumes, crowns, models and posters. The second brings the performance vividly to life through images, sound and the distinctive scents of La Festa, recreating the atmosphere and dramatic intensity of the spectacle.
