Fiestas in the Region of Valencia
In the Region of Valencia there is always a party: the smell of gunpowder in Fallas, coinciding with San José or Palm Sunday and Holy Week in the springtime. Les Fogueres de Sant Joan fill the month of June with fire and art while the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest takes place in July. La Tomatina de Buñol, the last Wednesday of August, is another of the classics. In September we have the Entry of Bulls and Horses of Segorbe and the calendar does not end there. In fact, it is full of multitudinous parties that should be lived, at least once in a lifetime.
In April, Alcoy relives the Reconquista with the Moors and Christians, Requena celebrates its Fair and Harvest Festival in September, there are also the Algemesí festivities; in August, Elche remembers the Mystery and Castellón celebrates Magdalena on the third Saturday of Lent.
All without mentioning the festivities of each town, among other celebrations. Do you realise what you're missing?
