Things to see at San Jaime Apóstol Parish Church in Algemesí

The church has a rectangular layout with a single nave and chapels set between buttresses. It is divided into five bays with ribbed vaults and ends in a polygonal apse. Outside, look out for the Renaissance doorway designed in the form of a triumphal arch, as well as the bell tower which was built in 1703. The Chapel of Communion is also worth seeing, with Baroque and Neoclassical details added during successive renovations. A visit to San Jaime Apóstol Parish Church offers a clear sense of how the building evolved over time and why it remains such an important part of the centre of Algemesí.
