Discover the most lively and colourful side of Alzira through its famous Moors and Chrstians festival!

The Moors and Christians Festival in Alzira, in Valencia, takes place the first weekend of October and is part of the patron saint festival of Saint Bernat, María and Gracia and Our Lady of Lluch.

This festival in Alzira includes lots of unique celebrations, including a national poster competition, the spectacular Grand Entrance of the Moors and Christians, and the historical re-enactment of the delivery of the city to King James I of Aragon in 1242.

The programme of the Moors and Christians Festival of Alzira blends tradition with music in a series of events organised by the brotherhoods. These include parades, dinners, homages, embajadas (which recreate the dialogue between ancient ambassadors) and activities for all ages. Alzira’s historic centre will be alive with colour and energy; ready to come see it with your own eyes?
