To explore this Historic-Artistic Site, you can enter through the Sant Roc gateway or follow the Fossaret climb, which leads you into a part of Ontinyent shaped by centuries of history. One of its main landmarks is the Palau de la Duquesa de Almodóvar, a palace built over Muslim foundations and earlier defensive structures. By the 15th century, Ontinyent had become one of the most prosperous towns south of the Júcar. As you walk through its age-old streets, look out for the finely cut stonework on the façades, then stop for a while in Plaça de Sant Pere and take in the surroundings. From Santa María bridge, you can also see the famous hanging houses rising above the old walls and the Clariano River.
