Circular in shape and completely closed, the Redonda "square", or "Clot" was from the very outset, a place destined for commercial transactions, and in particular the sale of meat and fish. Today the area is set back, surrounded by low buildings and full of shops that specialize in textiles and similar articles. A colourful market is held there on Sundays that spills out into the nearby streets of the old quarter of Valencia, with flower-stalls, fashion details, paintings and so on.
