At the foot of Xàtiva Castle stands San Félix Hermitage. Discover one of the oldest churches in the Kingdom of Valencia!

Built in 1265, after Jaume I's Christian conquest, the Ermita de San Félix, San Félix Hermitage, is one of the oldest churches in the Kingdom of Valencia and one of the few examples of Romanesque architecture that survive in this region. Located in Xàtiva, next to the Bellveret lookout point, it stands on what was once the ancient Roman city of Saetabis and the remains of a Visigoth cathedral.

Its side façade is dominated by an atrium supported by six Roman columns, all different from each other.

The Romanesque doorway of this chapel in Xàtiva is sober and majestic, and particularly striking inside is the 13th-century alabaster holy water font. You must see it!

But one of this chapel's great hidden treasures is its series of Gothic murals, hidden for centuries under layers of lime and now partially restored.

If you come to visit La Costera region, this is a must-see!
