Algemesí celebrates on Sunday, November 9, the Feast of Lady Pepa in honor of Blessed Josefa Naval Girbés (1820–1893), a laywoman who devoted her life to the human and spiritual formation of young women, to helping the sick, and to prayer.

The celebration will take place on Sunday, November 9, with Mass at 5:00 p.m. in the Basilica of Saint James the Apostle and a procession at 6:00 p.m. through the streets of the historic center.

Throughout the day, we invite you to discover the House of Lady Pepa and the Missionaries’ Chapel, located in the heart of the emblematic Berca Street. This convent complex was the home of Josefa Naval, where she taught young women to read, pray, and work with dignity.

Today, the house can be visited and is a place of pilgrimage for numerous local, national, and international devotees throughout the year.
