CORPUS ANIMAE. Anatomy of Fashion brings together a selection of 35 pieces from different periods, offering an insight into the history and evolution of Spanish fashion.
Curated by Guillem Bernat Alventosa Talamantes, the exhibition draws on the Alventosa Talamantes Archive of Spanish Fashion, a collection built up over ten years of research and collecting.
The exhibition features creations by Cristóbal Balenciaga, Manuel Pertegaz, Pedro Rodríguez, Manuel Piña, Elio Berhanyer, Sybilla, Jesús del Pozo, Francis Montesinos, Josep Font, Hannibal Laguna, Palomo Spain and Ana Locking, alongside Valencian and contemporary designers such as Carmen Celedonio, Ancor Montaner, Inés Conti, Paula Samper and Juan Andrés Mompó.
The exhibition is divided into three sections. El cos físic (The Physical Body) focuses on the garments, their materials and the archive. El cos anatòmic (The Anatomical Body) connects different parts of the human body with aspects of fashion such as identity, craftsmanship, creativity and elegance. Finally, El cos animat (The Animated Body) presents an installation bringing together garments by different designers, exploring the relationships between their styles and creations.
The exhibition also highlights the work of different generations of designers and the importance of preserving fashion as part of our cultural heritage.
Opening: Friday, 6 November 2026, at 7:30 pm.
Guided tours: A guided tour led by the curator, Guillem Bernat Alventosa Talamantes, will take place on the opening day. A programme of additional guided tours with the curator will be announced soon.
