Museo Arqueológico de Elda, Elda Archaeological Museum, is a must-visit during your time in this part of El Vinalopó Medio. The museum gives you the opportunity to delve into Elda’s most distant past through items that once belonged to ancient civilisations like the Iberians, the Romans and the Early Christians.

At Elda Archaeological Museum you will see with your own two eyes fascinating pieces such as “El Monastril Mermaid”, which dates back to Iberian times, as well as the remains of the Iberian-Roman settlement of the same name. You can even travel further back in time and see findings from the Neolithic period.

Pieces like lanterns, vases and ceramics will give you an insight into how the Iberians and Romans used to live. There’s also the remains of an old Byzantine basilica.
