Climbing in the Region of Valencia offers stunning landscapes and exceptional walls, making it a great destination for a spot of sports tourism! Although you’ll be spoilt for choice, we’ve selected a few climbing areas in Castellón, Valencia and Alicante for a first getaway. You are sure to get hooked on discovering all the amazing routes available!

Climbing in Castellón

Your climbing route in the Region of Valencia can start in Montanejos. It is one of the province’s most important locations, with a unique environment shaped by the Mijares River and the Maimona ravine. This is a place where classic routes and new sectors coexist, offering slabs, overhangs, cracks and high-quality routes. A vertical paradise in the midst of nature, even with open-air thermal baths - what more could you ask for?

Other options include routes in Jérica or les Coves de Vinromà. All of them offer incredible views, good access and the chance to visit fascinating places in the vicinity.

Climbing in Valencia

Any list of climbing spots in the Region of Valencia should include Chulilla, a beautiful town next to the steep walls of the Turia River where climbing is a real pleasure. You'll find well-maintained routes of different types and degrees of difficulty.

As well as Chulilla, you should try the climbing walls at El Tallat Roig in Alzira, or the climbing areas of Montesa and Canals. And take the chance to sample the local cuisine or a typical esmorzar: delicious!

Climbing in Alicante

Climbing in the Region of Valencia has many routes in Alicante, a province criss-crossed by mountains and ravines. There are too many to mention them all, but we recommend checking out those in the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park in Calp, those in Cabeço d'Or in Busot and those in the Puigcampana and Ponotx Protected Landscape in Finestrat.
