Cultural Itinerary in València: A Journey Through History and Art

This cultural itinerary of València is so comprehensive that we suggest you enjoy it over three days. You can shorten it if you have less time, or get away for several days and include other activities such as a day at the beach, breathing in the sea air. Take note and start looking for dates!

Cultural Route in València: Day 1

Our cultural itinerary in València will start at the Temple and Outbuildings of San Juan del Hospital, in a neighbourhood packed with palaces. This ancient church preserves remains of the Roman circus and a medieval cemetery. Our next stop is at the archaeological remains of the Almoina and Prison of San Vicente, where you’ll discover the city’s origins, strolling through its ancient streets!

From there, you can visit the building of the Old Almudín, a marvel in Gothic style, the Cathedral, and we recommend you climb up the Miguelete, and the magnificent Torres de Serranos. Remember that on Thursdays at 12 noon, at the Cathedral’s Puerta de los Apóstoles(Apostles’ Door) , the the Water Tribunal of the Plain of València is held. Don't miss it!

Museum Day in València: Day 2

Our cultural itinerary in València will devote the second day to visiting some of the city's main museums. It will be an intense day!

First up is the Fine Arts Museum, a fabulous art gallery where you can view works by Van Dyck, Murillo, Velázquez and Goya, amongst others. From there, walking or cycling through the Jardín del Turia, you reach the IVAM, where fascinating collections of contemporary art are sure to amaze you. Nearby are L'ETNO and the Prehistoric Museum of València, two places enabling you to travel back in time. We highly recommend them!

We continue our route to MUVIM, which showcases all the cultural, artistic and philosophical influences that have shaped the modern world. And very close by is our final suggestion, the Silk Museum, where you can admire a beautiful building and an exquisite collection.

Cultural Itinerary Through the City of València: Day 3

To culminate our cultural itinerary through València, we take you back through the Turia Gardens, passing magnificent bridges in different styles, to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. Here you can admire a futuristic, almost fantastical architectural complex that houses an impressive auditorium, Les Arts, and the Museu de les Ciències.
