Romantic getaways in Valencia: Xàtiva and Anna
To make your weekend getaway in Valencia truly romantic, all you have to do is bring your other half. We’ve got all sorts of destinations which are ideal to be explored hand in hand. For this itinerary, we’re going to split the days between Xàtiva and Anna.
On the first day, you will explore the monumental destination of Xàtiva where you’re sure to love wandering the streets. We recommend starting up high at the spectacular castle, which you can explore with a guided tour, and then coming back down to the centre and walking the streets full of stunning buildings. This itinerary is sure to help you with your planning.
On the second day, you’ll visit Los Condes de Cervellón Castle-Palace, whose beauty will amaze you, as well as Anna Lake, the Negra and Marzo springs and Gorgo de la Escalera. In these idyllic waterscapes, you can take some spectacular photographs.
Weekend getaway with kids in Valencia: Ciutat de les Ciències, El Saler and L’Albufera
Your family weekend getaway in Valencia will be full of activities and excitement – both you and the kids are going to love our proposals. We recommend travelling to València, a city full of exceptional sights.
Take a walk or hire a bike to get to Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències through El Turia River. You’ll have a great time! Along the way you will come across a sleeping giant in Gulliver Park and after you can visit Museu de les Ciències, which has plenty of things to touch and play around with, an IMAX cinema at Hemisfèric and spectacular Oceanogràfic, an aquarium where you can enjoy looking at marine life.
On your second day, make your way to L’Albufera Natural Park where you can take a ride on traditional boats, walk among the rice fields, dig into an authentic paella in El Palmar, do some outdoor activities or stroll around the stunning countryside. At sunset, you are sure to get the perfect family shot.
Things to do in Valencia in a weekend: Ademuz and Requena
Last but not least, we recommend a weekend in Valencia in beautiful Ademuz, taking a guided tour of the Iberian archaeological site of La Celadilla and dedicating part of the day to exploring the centre and the nature areas surrounding the village. Remember to try the delicious esperiegas variety of apples and the sweet treats that are made with them.
On day two, monumental Requena will be your destination where we recommend savouring delicious wines, and perhaps even doing a wine tasting session at one of the many wineries. One final surprise awaits in the centre of the town: the underground cave-cellars, which are known as the Requena Caves. This will be a weekend full of unforgettable aromas.
